HISTORY

The
Pasco Florida Kennel Club, Inc. was
chartered February 1, 1979 but was
started a number of years before by
the efforts of a handful of
dedicated people who shared a love
of dogs, a drive to see their breed
improved, and a goal to see the
Pasco Club as a vital member of the
AKC and the community. Pasco
Florida Kennel Club, Inc. is an IRS
approved 501(c) 4 not-for-profit
corporation.
Pasco Florida Kennel Club, Inc. is
approved to hold AKC sanctioned
Matches and shows. PFKC holds two
AKC shows yearly and one AKC
Sanctioned Match. These events will
see a response of between 150-250
entries for matches to nearly 2,000
entries for shows.
In addition to members being active
in the Breed ring, members are also
active in Obedience, Agility, Junior
and Senior Hunter, Master Hunter,
Lure Coursing and Tracking events.
PFKC is an active community
supporter and the members assist in
rabies clinics, community events,
educational workshops and therapy
programs. Each year, PFKC donates
10% of their show profits to
selected entities to benefit dog
oriented programs, and was active,
through its affiliate groups, in
getting the Dade City ordinance
changes from breed specific to
vicious dog. As an active member of
ADDA and FAKC as well as AKC, PFKC
contributes in time of crisis, which
effect animals such as Hurricane
Andrew in South Florida and the
Mid-West Floods of 1993.
PFKC has breeder referral.
The club meets on the fourth Tuesday
of each month at the Land O' Lakes
Community Center on HWY 41. Note
October and December’s meetings held
at different location. All are
welcome.
